Philippine Investment Immigration
The Philippine Special Resident Retiree's Visa (SRRV) is a retirement immigration program introduced by the Philippine Retirement Authority. The SRRV program offers various retirement plans, with the full name being "Special Resident Retiree's Visa." It was implemented in 1985 and expanded with five different retirement plan categories introduced in 2011.
Among these options, the Classic Plan, which requires a deposit of $20,000 under the Smile Plan or a deposit of $50,000 (which can later be converted into real estate), is particularly popular. This plan allows individuals to obtain Philippine permanent residency with minimal investment. It offers high cost-effectiveness, no immigration supervision, and no requirements regarding assets, education, language proficiency, or management experience. SRRV holders can freely work, do business, and study in the Philippines, enjoying an English-speaking environment, authentic American-style education, and benefits for overseas Chinese students. The program is highly sought after among individuals aged 50 and above.
Philippine investment immigration application conditions
1. The main applicant must be 50 years of age or older.
2. Dependents: Spouse and unmarried children below 21 years of age.
3. All applicants must be in good health and have no criminal records.
4. Application method [choose one from three options]
(1) Classic plan
a. Individuals aged 50 and above: Deposit $20,000.
b. Individuals aged 50 and above with a pension: Deposit $10,000 (Pension should meet a fixed monthly income of $800 for a single person or $1,000 for a couple, supported by documentation from the Social Security Agency).
(2) After 30 days of successfully obtaining the Classic Plan, the deposit can be converted into an investment in real estate. The investment should meet a minimum of $50,000 and can be in:
a. Leasehold (20 years or more) of land/building/commercial space/townhouse.
b. Investment in shares of a golf or country club.
The investment amounts mentioned above are calculated for a family of up to three members. For each additional dependent, an additional deposit of $15,000 is required.
