Hong Kong Work Visa

For immigration to Hong Kong, you may consider the Hong Kong Work Visa. This pathway involves applying for a Hong Kong work visa through a sponsoring employer in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong work visa is equivalent to a temporary residence permit in Hong Kong. Initially, it is granted for a period of 3 years, and subsequent renewals are typically for 3 years, followed by 2 years, and then another 2 years. After a total of 7 years of continuous residence in Hong Kong, you can apply for permanent residency and a Hong Kong passport.

This route is particularly suitable for individuals who have several years of experience in industries such as logistics and trade, finance, internet, engineering and construction, information technology, and others. Applicants can either be shareholders or senior executives of companies with extensive experience in these industries. Holding shares in a Hong Kong company is not a requirement for the application and does not affect the application process.

Hong Kong Work Visa Application Requirements

1)Personal Requirements

1. Tertiary education qualification + 10 years of genuine work experience: Bachelor's degree or above + 5 years of genuine work experience


2. The applicant should hold a position as a senior executive, shareholder, or professional staff in a company outside Hong Kong and provide proof of employment

3. The applicant's past work experience should be relevant to the industry of the Hong Kong company

2)Hong Kong Company Requirements

1. The company should have been established for at least 2 years, with genuine operation and a physical office

2. The company should have established commercial connections in Hong Kong or conducted genuine business activities in Hong Kong

3. The company should employ at least two Hong Kong permanent residents who have enrolled in a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme

4. The company's annual turnover for tax assessment should be HKD 3 million or above
